July Weather and Diving

Normally July has quite a few bright and sunny days, some of those partially sunny. After an even better than average
2020, July 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 were not so nice. The number of real sunny days was this year below average and we had way more overcast days,
some of those wet as well.
After a so far warm 2024 July was temperature wise about average. We could really do with some cooler weather and more rain for both the land and the water though.
Whereas in 2020 most of the rain fell at night, this year we had some wet days as well. The number of days with a moderate or strong wind was about average.
So the weather didin't affect the diving too much.
We saw 14 calm days with just a slight breeze and 17 days with a moderate or strong wind and 7 days where the wind affected the diving.
In 2009 the diving boats could not go out on one day in July because of the weather conditions, in 2010 there was one
day where we were limited in our destinations because of the height of the waves, in 2011 and 2012 we were also on one
day limited in our destinations.
In 2013 there was one day where we could only go to our alternate destination of
Coral Island and one day where we could only go to Racha Yai and Phi Phi, in 2014 on two days we could only go to
Coral Island, on eight days we were otherwise limited, in 2015 on three days we could not go diving at all, on two days
we were limited to Coral Island, on four days could only go to Racha Yai, on four days only to Racha Yai and Phi Phi
and on one day we could not dive in the Shark Point area, in 2016 on six days we could not dive in the Shark Point area
and on four days we were limited to Racha Yai.
In 2017 on five days we could not dive in the King Cruiser-Shark Point
area, on two days we were limited to Racha Noi and Racha Yai and on one day to Racha Yai. In 2018 on six days
there was no diving at all, on seven days we could go to Racha Yai only, on three days to Racha Noi and Racha Yai only
and on four days we could not go to King Cruiser-Shark Point area.
In 2019 on four days we could not comfortably and
safely go to the King Cruiser-Shark Point area, and on two days we were limited to Racha Yai. On the other days the
boats could go to all destinations.
In 2020 there were most likely only two days where we would not have been
able to go to the King Cruiser-Shark Point area, on all other days we would have been able to go to all destinations.
In 2021
on one day we were limited to Racha Yai, on three days to Racha Noi and Racha Yai and on seven days diving
at King Cruiser/Shark Point area would have been very uncomfortable and/or not safe, last year on three days we were limited to
Racha Yai, on five days to Racha Noi and Racha Yai and on six days diving in the King Cruiser area would have been unsafe.
In 2023 on three days we were limited to Racha Yai, on twelve days to Racha Noi and Racha Yai and on three days diving in the King Cruiser area would have been unsafe.
This year on only one day we were limited to Racha Yai, on three days to Racha Noi and Racha Yai and on three more days diving in the King Cruiser area would have been unsafe.
