October Weather and Diving

October 2023 - 2022 - 2021 - 2020 - 2019 - 2018 - 2017 - 2015 - 2014 - 2013

After a bad 2022 October 2023 was about average.
We had 6 really sunny days and 21 days that were at least partially sunny, and only 4 really overcast days.

For diving October 2023 was also about average with not that much rain during the day but quite a few days with a moderate or strong wind that affected diving.
In 2012 we could reach all divesites on every day of the month, in 2013 we were on 3 days limited to Coral Island, in 2014 on 4 days we could not safely go out at all and on 1 day were limited to Racha Yai, in 2015 we could again safely go out to all destinations on every day, in 2017 on 1 day we could not dive in the King Cruiser-Shark Point area and on 1 day we were limnited to Racha Yai, in 2018 on just one day we could not dive safely in the King Cruiser-Shark Point area and in 2019 we could safely and comfortably dive all days on all destinations. In 2020 on 5 days diving in the King Cruiser-Shark Point area would not have been safe, and on 5 days we were limited to Racha Yai, diving at our housereef was for sensible operators off for the whole of the month. In 2021 despite the calm weather on 6 days diving in the King Cruiser-Shark Point area was not safe, and on 3 days we were limited to Racha Yai. Diving at our housereef was possible on some days. Last year there was no diving at our housereef, I think only 1 person attempted and quickly regretted, which was mainly due to swell and rain. There were windy days but not many days with a really strong wind, so on only 3 days we were limited to Racha Yai, on 2 days to Racha Noi and Racha Yai and on 2 days diving in the King Cruiser-Shark Point area was not possible. This year there was also not yet any shore diving in October. But on only 3 days we were limited and was diving in the King Cruiser-Shark Point area not possible.

Unfortunately we made a mistake, and can not retrieve the data for 2016 anymore. So we're sorry, but the October 2016 overview will be missing. I can say that it was a month with a few wet days and many days with some rain, especially in the night but also some rainshowers during the day. We did go diving every day, but were restricted on some days.
